She has cuts on her arm
And a smile on her face
Her pain hidden so deep
It could never be traced
She's learned how to pretend
How to put on a fake smile
She wished she was happy
If just for a while
Running away and lying
The only things she can do
Longing for something
That she can cling to
Her dad always yells
Her best friend doesn't care
She doesn't understand
Why life just can't be fair
She cannot ever eat
She's too afraid she will gain
But she's got every excuse
To hide her inner pain
She hates herself
And who she's become
She hates how she's always
Tired and numb
Restless and abandoned
Like she's been left in the cold
Nobody likes her
She doesn't fit into the mold
