the white tiles of the shower watch me
as i sit in the bathtub, shower going,
hot water spraying down on my face
i've got the razor in my hand

its doesnt take much, not much at all
slowly, gently, i press the razor into my flesh
its sting is all to familiar, my only friend
but the kind to stab you in the back

press and drag, metal lines
bleeding red, soft beads,
scarlet tears, crimson sorrow
dont look at me, i am shamed

all over my body, these solid straight lines of red appear
wrist, shoulder, stomach, hip, ankle
they scream for you to notice,
but you do not

red flows down the drain
swirls in such an unspeakable way
so beautiful is it,
the way my life, love, happiness,
turns red and is swallowed whole by the shower drain

goodbye, my soul,
goodbye
