When rain is perpetual
And darkness is day
When cold is summer
And colors are grey

It evokes something strange
An emotion inside
Where pain is normal
And laughter's denied

You soon feel abandoned
By hearts black as sin
When all hope has vanished
>From the child within

Time flows by silently
The noise drives you insane
Your tears drip down quietly
To escape all the pain

Lucid thought floats away
Before reaching your mind
Only one image is clear
But your black eyes are blind

Sink deeper and deeper
Wrapped up in chains
The water is icy
Like the blood in your veins

You reach out your hands
In search of something real
But you've sunk so far down
You can hardly feel

You grasp at it harder
It seeps into your skin
The more that you bleed
The more your world spins

You're barely aware
As it all slips away
But soon the sun sets
On this cold, rainy day
