Reality's the blade that stabs my heart
Love keeps this wound from healing
My pain allows blood to keep pouring out
As my bitterness nurtures this feeling

Your cradling arms, your warm embrace
Are hidden beneath icy snow
Your piercing eyes, your velvet lips
Left quickly as sunset's glow

The pale memories I hold onto
Of your touch, smile, and kindness
Were taken away like feathers
In the winds beyond my blindness

My life is now a storm
I search for a rainbow overhead
But everything is cracked and grey
The rain has turned to red

The night starts to consume me
I try, but cannot wake
And even though I need your light
The dawn may never break
