The moon reflects its glare on my window
A bright scar on the earth's skin
Hovering down on me with its resilient glow
The only familiar sight in my disturbing world

Washed up memories form my shoreline
As tears beat my cheeks
Pain echoes through my body
With no beginning
With no end

Every day is a deep breath taken in my life
The light has blinded me
I only see darkness
All around me

I want the stars to shoot me down
Make me one of their own
Burning on
Surrounding the intimate moon of mine

Shaping the past, present, and future
Being gazed upon as something beautiful
Something real
Praised on and wished upon

I dread the dawn of day
For it only takes me away
It imprisons me in an unknown place
Until the night falls

Then I can live again
