The dull blade, the weathered handle,
The knife that no one will miss
It's slight serration on the curve at the tip
It will serve its purpose
Although it's dull
It still shines in the light
A little
Although it's dull

Blood is wet, thick and sticky
Diluted with water,
It thins, turns clear
And rushes down the drain
Swishing in a circular motion
Around and around and around
The blood circles down the drain
Taking with it the thick pain
Thick and sticky

Pain does not dilute with water
Nothing can take from its sting
Circling down the drain pipe
Blood becoming clear
Pain becoming more pronounced
More aware
That pain is there
Although it's dull
