On the cold hard ground,
Amongst the broken glass.
Each jagged shard representing a dream.
A dream that was once embedded in my mind.
As the memories fade, I lay in the fetal position.
Rocking back and forth.
A tear slowly develops in the corner of my eye.
It proceeds to fall down the side of my face.
My last bit of sanity pleading with me to emerge from the darkness.
Emerge, before I am lost forever.
But what does the light have to offer me?
MORE PAIN?! MORE GRIEF?!
No I won't go back to the old ways, I couldn't live like that.
Whilst my sanity makes a futile attempt at stopping me,
I reach my hand out into the darkness searching, longing.
Longing for the answer.
Ah I have found it, I have found the answer to all my problems.
My last thoughts run through my mind.
They are those of peace and rest.
Finally I will be able to call it mine!
After all these years,
Death is upon my door.
I welcome it with open arms.
My last breathes are used to laugh.
Laugh at those who shall not be joining me in blissful death.
I let out one last sigh, as my body falls limp.
I am now looking down at my body,
Hovering above I wonder...
Was that really the answer?
