they expect me there at
six a.m. sharp

I lay
staring
at the ceiling
praying
for one more hour
of sweet sleep
or to awaken
from a dream
and
find
it
only three a.m.
with two hours
still to go
but there is
no chance
there is
no mercy
its all to real
at 5:00 a.m.
in a strange bed
in a strange town
]trying to make a living
when I don't
feel like
living
at
all.
