I feel a burning on my skin,
I know it's coming form within,
Let's look inside with special care,
to see what we may see in there.
A grieving loss of which I may cope,
I sleep at night with new hope.
I wake in the morning with loads of dread,
but praise to God I am not dead.
I know not what this world may bring
but may it cause me yet to sing.
The world is such a horrid place,
staring back in your face.
What we all see in life,
can cut us through like a fillet knife.
It will cut deep down,
and it will make you drown,
in your own pool of blood.
Oh this life it is a dud,
we know not what is best.
I just wish this burning would stop,
this burning in my chest.
