Infatuation suits you
Yet I shy
Away from feelings
That know of romance and love
I am one
Cannot give, cannot take
My heart to small for myself
Let alone others

Must hide, push away emotion
Must not feel tenderness and kisses
Empty is the way I'm meant to be
Intended for isolation

Solitude suits me in a way
It does no other
Safe within skin
Contained
There is no one who'll touch me
And I prefer that way
Don't reach out your hand to me
I'm not worthy of contact

Must hide, push away emotion
Must not feel tenderness and kisses
Empty is the way I'm meant to be
Intended for isolation
Splendid isolation
